In personal expenses, one of major expenses which we forget because we all think, we or our family is immortal But truth is, we all are mortal. We have to die surely if we have taken the birth. So, instead of managing money immediately for this purpose, you should reserve this fund in advance in your saving account or in cash.
Cost of cremation may be different because different religion follow different principles. For example, in Hinduism and Sikhism, body is surrendered to holy fire. In Muslim religion and christian religion, dead body is buried in the earth. So, for completing whole process, you have to pay cremation expenses.
Following may be main cremation expenses:
1. Pandit's Service Cost
Most Hindu pandits are greedy. They take this as opportunity for getting big money. During cremation process of my mother after her death , I saw his personal greed. We paid Rs. 1100 and he also got whole money at 4th day last tribute gathering which is estimated Rs. 5000. Now, he earned Rs. 6100 by doing 2 hours daily work. So, he earned Rs. 762.50 per hour earning. Still, he is demanding more money. It was not marriage time. But, I think, greed of any body do not see the time. So, before appointing any pandit for cremation, you must ask his fees. If your pocket does not allow, avoid such greedy pandit.
2. Wood's Cost
We paid Rs. 2200 for wood. In your case, this cost may be different. It depends totally local market wood cost and cremation temple's rules and regulations.
3. Cremation Temple's Cost
We paid Rs. 700 as the cost of cremation temple.
4. Cremation Vehicle's Cost
In our city, this service is cost free from municipal committee. In your area, it may have some cost from Rs. 100 to 300.
5. Desi Ghee and Samagri and Other Useful Expenses Cost
We have paid Rs. 6000 for 15 kgs desi ghee and also bought Rs. 2000 samagri. We also paid other useful expenses for completing cremation. Its cost may be Rs. 500.
6. Food and Refreshment Cost for Outsiders
On the 4th day's last tribute gathering, family deceased person has to pay for food and refreshment cost for outsiders. All these cost depends on the numbers of members who will participate in the gathering. In our case, its cost was Rs. 5000
7. Two Hour Cost of Place Where you will be gather.
Its cost may be Rs. 2100 to Rs. 5100
8. Cost of Visiting Holy River for adding Funeral in it
It is calculated on the basis of numbers of members who will go and cost of per ticket. I think, Rs. 5000 to Rs. 10000 is the minimum budget of this.
9. Donation for the Peace of Soul in Heaven
You can donate this time to Gaushala, orphan home, poor and needy people for the peace of soul in heaven. It may be Rs. 1 to any amount which you would like to donate.
In my case, we spent Rs. 35000 on all above projects. In your case, it may be less or more as per your need and availability of money.
