In big corporation, there is the separate department whose name is
treasury department. In this department team, accounts department and
finance department's expert will include whose responsibility to manage
the the cash, fund, debt and financial risk.
Following are the main objectives of treasury management:-
1st Objective : Manage Cash
We take the example of bank. Bank collects big money in the form of cash from depositors, fixed depositors and other sources. So, to manage this cash physical and in books is challenging objective. So, this is the one of main objective of treasury department.
2nd Objective : Manage Investment of Cash
It is the second objective of treasury management. Up to the level of security, it keeps and other fund is invested for increasing the treasure in the treasury department.
(a) Investment in giving debt :
If treasury department gives loan to other, then it is the objective of treasury department to give debt after getting security of debt. It may be gold or property or other asset. Without security, there is the risk of treasure of company. Treasure department should take such risk.
