Every software provides us facility to work fast and easy way. There are many other benefits of different software. Like different software’s, tally was also made by tally solution co. for the benefit of professional accountants. But, still there are many disadvantages of tally. This article is not criticism of India’s no. one branded accounting software. But, this article is written for all tally experts and tally solution software company, so that after knowing defect, we can be over all default of tally and make it no. one accounting software in the world market.
1. I have used tally for many years and I feel that it is not as easy as excel or ms word of Microsoft Company. Because, excel and ms word can learn by himself. But even senior accountants, if they do not know how to operate, they can also mistake in maintaining of accounts in tally.
2. There is no improvement in old version of tally. Tally Company islaunching new version one by one from tally 4.5 to tally 9. It is one of most disadvantage of tally that the expert in old version of tally can not get improvement in same version. Suppose I am expert in tally 7.2 and tally launch new version tally 8.1 and tally 9. But tally Co. is not care for improving tally 7.2. But now after migration facility from tally 7.2 to tally 9 is good step of Tally Company for removing this advantage.
3. Tally 9’s making and maintain system of budgeting is no so advance. There is no provision of capital budgeting in tally 9 with different methodsof capital budgeting.
4. Tally does not provide one button of default setting of this software. I explain this demerit as suppose a new customer purchased tally for maintaining accounts on it and he has changed some setting of features and configuration after this , if his accountant found something wrong in tally , there is no one button to correct it because without deleting ledger and voucher , you can return to default setting of feature menu .
5. Tally support system is no so effective. There is still need to improve to the support system of tally. So that training of this software becomes simple.
